Community & Art

Proyecto Cultural organizes bilingual art programming and events  for the community to engage families in creative self-expression and community connections.

Art

We believe in the importance of art for developing confidence, inspiring internal and external change, and creating cultural and community connections. We have planned and hosted several art galleries showcasing the art of underserved and Hispanic artists in order to increase access to art in our community through a partnership with Israel Carranza from Whatisreal Studios. We are also planning art programming to teach our community artistic skills and to provide them with more avenues for creative self-expression.

Music

There are many creators in our community that would benefit from more spaces for showcasing their talents. We have partnered with Sam Crisler from Bonehead Booking and other local community organizers to host regular music and market events and to support the local DIY community.

Community

Art is an important avenue for connecting with others, and it can also lead to entrepreneurship and self-sufficiency. We organize bilingual community events and markets alongside partners to build community and support local entrepreneurs, creators, and organizers.

We have organized Plaza at Proyecto, a celebration for building connections through culture, art, and entrepreneurship. We also planned Y Not Market Alongside Reactor Coffee and Turbine Flats in order to contribute to creating a vibrant art community on Y Street.
